City Museum is a museum complex that deals with the museum and gallery activities, ie, collecting, processing, presenting and publishing historical, cultural and artistic materials and documents relevant to their area, and that the town itself and the surroundings.

Collection and Museum, was founded with the desire to be closer to the public and presents a rich and valuable history of the city and its surroundings. The same desire is there, but the 1934th AD, when the society was founded Antiquarians of Krizevci, with the primary objective of collecting items of historical and museum of the future museum.
The first attempt at establishing museum in Križevci was recorded immediately after the Second World War, when the Ministry of Education, Department of Culture and the Arts, sent in March 1946. recommendation on the establishment of the museum, and the castle Kiepach aristocratic family with all of their inventory. He works diligently on it, giving himself plenty of items for the museum. Although without the necessary education, age was the only curator of the museum, and then the 1968th as the first qualified person employed by prof. Vladimir Srimšek, art historian, whose work is in the museum focuses on filling archaeological and ethnographic collections, and in particular to the establishment of the Art Gallery and its holdings, and the renewal and development of the space as a gallery and exhibition activities.
