
KSAVER ŠANDOR GJALSKI
Gjalski - Croatian writer and politician.
Born as Ljubomir Tito Babic 26th listopada 1854th in the estate of Zabok. He wrote novels, short stories, chronicles, articles of literary, philological essays, and political and historical debate.
One of the most typical Croatian Writers second half of the 19th and early 20 century. Born in a noble family of Croatian Zagorje, which will significantly affect his choice of literary topics. In his story "Under the old roofs", "For the mother tongue" and "born on the breast," it is not just a chronicler, but also a sensitive poet, and a refined and mature artist. Comes to the fore his emotional relationship with nature and the immediate countryside.
Gjalski be tried in many other themes and motifs, covering almost the whole of the social issues of his time. Is recorded as the first critic and the first ever Croatian writer who has tried to provide a comprehensive synthesis of the Croatian literary society in which he lived.
