De Dominis was a versatile scholar - an extremely talented physicist, mathematician, professor of philosophy, logic and rhetoric, Archbishop of Split, a doctor of theology, a diplomat, a legal adviser to the Venetian Republic ... 
Unfortunately, most of his writings and documents after his death were thrown together with his body in an Italian river Tiber.
