Petar Zoranić was born in 1508. and it is assumed that he died before the 1569. when his "Mountains" were printed. He was a descendant of an old noble family from Nin that the end of the fifteenth century took refuge from the Turks in Zadar. About his life we ​​know very little. In his book "Mountains" he writes that he began writing with 28 years of age. His only surviving work is novel "Mountains".
