The natural wealth of basic raw materials such as water, wood and stone ensured a favorable living conditions, while the hilly area provided shelter and food. Archaeological remains from the early Iron Age (750.-300.pr.K.), collected on the world famous site in Kaptol, certainly the most important elements of the archaeological heritage within the Park Nature Park. The importance of Papuk space, especially during the invading Turkish danger, witnessed by the large number of medieval fortifications, most of which originates from the 13th century. These "ancient citiesĖ, which on the Papku has seven, except as historical monuments, inseparable component of the landscape.
