Northeast of the St. Mihovil peak (236 m) there is a large Venetian fortress from the beginning of 13th century, which served as a watchtower for the Zadar archipelago. It was built around a Benedictine, and later the Dominican monastery. The fortress overlooks more than 200 islands of the Archipelago and the Kornati National Park.
