SCULPTURE GALLERY IVAN SABOLIĆ, PETERANEC

John Sabolić (Peteranec, 1921. - Zagreb, 1986)., Sculptor, academician, Ph.D., professor and dean of the School of Fine Arts.

A member of the postwar generation of sculptors who are mid-20th century out of the framework of strict social realism and engaged art. Synthesis and reducing forms to sign and a pure geometric level remained faithful to the tradition of Croatian Drava and sculptures. Gallery in the old building from the 18th Captaincy century was opened in 1983 and it is located sculptor donations of original sculptures, casts, drawings, sketches, studies and models. In front of the Port Authority raised the artist's sculpture "Winter Sun" in 1987, which, according to the wishes of the sculptor, deposited the urn with his ashes.
