AQUARIUM PULA
Aquarium Pula is located in the Austro-Hungarian fortress built Verudela 1886th year on the peninsula, 3 km from the town center.
The aquarium exhibition contains about 100 species of vertebrates and invertebrates from the Adriatic and about 50 species of marine and freshwater tropical fish, along with Croatian freshwater fish. An integral part of the aquarium is the exhibition "Evolution" with living fossils (American horseshoe crab) and the projection of educational film "Posidonia oceanica." The roof of the fort provides a unique view of the entire city of Pula and Istria with a trench that provides a shelter for red eared slider turtles. Aquarium Pula is also well known for its work on recovering injured and sick sea turtles (Marine turtle rescue centre).
