Ideas for weekend

Cave Gudnja, multilayered prehistoric site near Ston on the Peljesac peninsula, is one of those archaeological sites which for many years, arousing great interest in technical and scientific archeology to the public. The cave is located above the Stone (about 40 km northwest of Dubrovnik) in the massive postwar hill at an altitude of 400m. The entrance to the cave faces the sea, and in front there is an extraordinary view of much of the southern Adriatic and its hinterland. With all of the side caves surrounded by steep slopes brdimai mountain chains that enclose nearly all the roads and limit communication.  The use of caves as well as housing and living space began in the early Neolithic, about 5700./5600 BC, and its first inhabitant was a lot of small community-holders Impressed culture, which, judging by the thickness of the layer formed during this period, the number of found flint and bone tools, and pottery fragments, the cave has not used a long time.
