Numerous archeological findings, recorded in Nova Bukovica, Vocin, Čađavica Sladojevci, Macute and Slatina, indicating that this area was inhabited since ancient times. Roman map dating from the 3rd century to the Slatina area mentioned village called Marinianis. In recent times the town of Slatina was mentioned for the first time in a document issued in Zagreb Bishop Michael's first September 1297.godine in Pozega.
