
FAŽANA: BIKE PATH VASIANUM
Fažana was well known even in ancient Roman times. It is located on a low coast, well protected from the sea with magnificent Brijuni islands, and in the hinterland enriched with vineyards and olive groves.
Select Vasianum path and set your bike to start in Fazana. Situated on a low coast, well protected from the sea with magnificent Brijuni Islands - national park in the hinterland of vineyards and olive groves, Fažana is well known even in ancient Roman times. The road will take you through Valbandon to Peroj, now best known for its orthodox community. Not far from Peroj, the trail continues along the old Roman road to the village Batvaci where the church is located. Especially from 6./7.st. with a spacious porch. If you go further, the road takes you to Barbariga - a place that is named after a prominent Venetian family that gave two Doge, cardinals and provincial governors. The path then brings you to Bala - wonderful place which will rock enchanting medieval center. Walking along its narrow, winding streets with beautiful old stone house you will find the Gothic - Renaissance palace with Bembo quadriphore the central balcony and beautiful parish church where you can visit a rich collection of stone monuments. After a silence Bale go back to Betiga trail where you will find the remains of the Basilica of St. Andrew, and then over Cones return to the starting position - Fažanski waterfront where your adventure began.
