Beautiful and picturesque trees of beech, fir and spruce with some very high (over 35 m) thick trees on the limestone underlying soil give this area special status. In 1954. it was declared a forest park. Forest includes fifty hectares of protected areas with monolithic rocks and stone, located 1 km from the center of Lokve. Great meadow at the entrance is surrounded by dense coniferous forests. Displayed in the park are sculptures Lokve art colony. The park also features two caves: Ice cave and Golubinja cave.
