IVAN BELOSTENEC
Pavlin, educated in Lepoglava, Vienna and Rome, then returned to Lepoglava, served as prior, and then the General Definitors.
Ivan Belostenec (1595th to 1675th), Pauline, was educated in Lepoglava, Vienna and Rome, then returned to Lepoglava, served as prior, and then the General Definitors. One of the most important figures in the history of Croatian linguistics. Combining stokavian, Kajkavian and Chakavian dialects wrote DECEM Sermo (Ten Sermons on the Eucharist), but his most important work is a Polyhedron - Latin-Croatian and Croatian-Latin dictionary, which is still an inexhaustible source for the study of the Croatian language.
