JURAJ DOBRILA
University of Pula (Veli Jezenj, April 16, 1812. - Trieste, 13 January 1882.) was a prominent bishop, printer and benefactor of the area.
Dobrila was born in the village of Veli Jezenj in the Tinjan in central Istria, which was then part of the Illyrian Provinces, soon passed into the Habsburg Monarchy (today in Croatia). He has above average intelligence, and first attended elementary school in Germany Tinjan and Pazin, and then high school in Gorizia and Karlovac, where he went in the seminary.
