Ponds are attracted birds and ornithologists today at Monte Mlaka even recorded 235 bird species, of which 98 species related to aquatic habitat, and 74 for the forest. White-tailed Eagle, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Black-headed Gull, black storks, cormorants, herons, snipe, and various species of ducks are just a few of the many protected birds that remain here during the greater part of the year.
Black Hearted declared in 1980. ornithological reserve and is under special protection. Reserve is included in the Ramsar List of Important in project areas in Europe, IBA.
A kind of trademark of Black Duck Ferruginous Mlaka is. During summer and early autumn, the largest gathering of its kind in Central Europe ducks just Black Hearted - gather them up to five thousand!
