Wetland habitat Vir is located near the village Starogradački Marof (municipality Pitomaca). Protected because of rare plant and animal species that reside here. There is a steady supply of water from the soil. The most important types of plants: Cutter (Stratoides aloides), golden coins (Soidago sp.), Žabogriz (Hydrocharis morsus-wound), bindweed (Calystegia sp.), Water lily, water lenses. Rare plant communities: Hydrochari-stratiotetum aloides. Rare and endangered fish species: brunette (Umbra krameri) - threatened at the EU level, then carp, tench, roach, spined loach. Since 2008. The wetland habitat of Vir is located in the coverage of the regional park "area of the Rivers" (preventive care).
