The most beautiful part of the Jelkuš Cay. The Cay is an extremely valuable habitat for several species of birds, fish, dragonflies, mushrooms and otters. Particularly significant populations of Little Tern (Sterna albifrons) and small Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos), little ringed plover (Charadrius dubius).
Jelkuš because of its importance of the National Ecological Network - the most significant natural areas in Croatia. Since 2008. The Jelkuš is located in the coverage of the regional park "area of the Rivers" (preventive care).
