LJUBO BABIĆ

Significant painter, stage designer, writer, art historian, art critic and educator, was born in Jastrebarsko where he was the first studio.

His painting is thematically very diverse: he painted portraits, landscapes, studies, still lifes, motifs from folk poetry and folklore. Expressed in a variety of painting and graphic techniques such as watercolor, oil, watercolor, chalk, etching, lithography. The fine arts entries and personally experiencing their artistic, cultural and political events in which he actively participated. He collaborated with director Branko Gavella in making scenery for numerous Drama Theatre in Zagreb. He has more than 200 Set Design exhibition. 1940. became a full professor at the Zagreb Art Academy. He has organized numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and published a series of works from art history and critical view of contemporary art events. He produced and illustrated numerous books, radio designs for posters, interiors and objects of artistic craft.
