SRĐ HILL - PANORAMA AND MUSEUM

Srd hill rises above Dubrovnik on its north side. Srđ is 413 m high, and its highlight is the monumental Imperial fortress, built at a strategic location in 1810. during Napoleon's occupation.

From this position the French controlled waters and the hinterland of Dubrovnik. During the Homeland war the Imperial fortress, as the first line of defense of Dubrovnik, has played a very important role. Near the fortress there is a large stone cross, made from ​​famous Brac stone. The original cross was destroyed during the Homeland war, and after the war, a new one was set. From the hill Srđ streaches a magnificent view of Dubrovnik and its surroundings, so this is a favorite hill position for photographing.
