DARK SKY, ISLAND LASTOVO

Lastovo has the darkest night skies in Europe.

The mystic beauty of landscape, and many rare marine and terrestrial species are not the only value of the archipelago, this area is preserved and with light unpolluted sky, unique in Europe. Korado Korlević from observatory Visnjan said: "There's a place in Croatia where the Milky Way is exposed as on a platter, and the even the weaker telescope can see other galaxies. Lastovo currently has the darkest night skies in Europe and it should be preserved.
