IVO BREŠAN

Croatian writer and screenwriter.

In Sibenik he attended elementary and high school, and studied Slavic studies and philosophy at the Philosophy Faculty in Zagreb. 
He worked as a high school teacher in Sibenik high school, then as artistic director of the Center for Culture "Sibenik" and the International Children's Festival, and also became a director of Sibenik theater. 
At the year 1955. begins to write, and the first great success experienced 1971. work performance of Hamlet in the village of Lower Mrdusa. He soon became one of the most popular playwrights of ex-Yu. His plays are performed in almost all theaters, the then cultural centers. In addition to literature, and writes screenplays - at first with Cross Papic, then for Veljko Bulajic, and then to his son Vincent Bresan director. In 2008. won Ksaver Sandor Gjalski novel Cathedral.
