On the way to the top lies Ratkovo shelter, one of the most impressive mountain refuge in Croatia, situated in a cave rock that overlooks it as a natural roof. This beautiful park of stone sculptures, wild sinkholes and delicate mountain flowers of the Croatian Olympic Centre Bjelolasica away a 5-6 hours walk. The base Samarske rocks can be reached by gravel road Jasenak-Mrkopalj, from the top to just 45 minutes walk.
