
STREET CARERA, ROVINJ
Carera represented the main road to Rovinj, and led directly to the bridge on the canal that separates the island from the mainland settlement.
The name comes from italian "strada per / di carri", or the way in which there are passing trains. To 19. century Carera represented a major way to Rovinj, and led directly to the bridge on the canal (now the space in front of the Museum) which separates the island from the mainland settlement. It was also the main route to the southern and eastern territory of Rovinj. The contours of the street, Carera began to take the mid-17th century when Rovinj, due to the cessation of war and the ravages of the plague, and began to spread to the mainland. The beginning of the street Carera marked by the construction of the church of Sv. Anthony of Padua 1654th year (before the present inn "Calisona"), which was destroyed by 1933rd year.
