Small town with a rich history, tradition and culture.
Located at the foot of the highest mountains of the Croatian Zagorje is situated in a small town rich in history, tradition and culture. Because of its natural beauty, water resources and diversity, Ivanec in the distant past was already inhabited, as evidenced by numerous excavations in the surrounding area, which tell the story much earlier than the 12th century that talk about the Hospitallers - knightly order of St.. John of Jerusalem, which he then settled. Throughout history Ivanec changed, evolved, and in the 15th century became a worldly property, and in the 16th century built a castle, defense and residential fortress, which is the last century in war and postwar devastation completely destroyed. Today, the ruins of the fort located in the center of Ivanec, surrounded by a park, where a few trees planted, and Napoleon's troops.
