The parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of two crikveničkih parish churches. It was built at the mouth of the river Dubračine in ancient times, while the population is still mainly lived in the village of Kotor on the same hill above Crikvenica, in the shelter of the old parish church of Kotor.
