INSTALLATION GREETINGS TO THE SUN IN ZADAR
Instalation "Greetings to sun light" plays in the rhythm of the waves, the attraction that offers a view of the harbor, islands and the sunset whose beauty is famous in Zadar.
After the world-known Sea Organs, Zadar has become wealthier with one more urban installation. On the coast of Istria, at the very top of Zadar peninsula, along the famous Sea Organs, shines the Greeting to the Sun by the same architect Nikola Basic. Sun Salutation consists of three hundred multi-layered glass plates placed flush with the stone-paved promenade in a circle 22 meters in diameter. Under the glass conduction plates there are photo-voltage solar modules through which symbolic communication with nature, with the goal that, like the Sea Organs, achieve communication - with the sound there, and here the light. Simultaneously with the "most beautiful sunset in the world" the lighting elements built into the circle, and following a particularly programmed scenario produced a beautiful, very impressive light in the rhythm of sound waves and sea organ. Photovoltaic solar modules absorb the sun's energy and then converted into electricity by passing it in the power distribution network. The informational display reads the current generation of electric energy, and it is expected that the entire system to annually produce about 46 500 kWh. This is actually a small plant from which energy is used not only for the installation of Sun Salutations, but also for the lighting of the entire waterfront. This energy will be three times cheaper than existing ones, and the project itself is a unique example of connecting renewable energy, energy efficiency and design of urban space. Installing the Sun Salutation as a model of the solar system with accompanying planets, is associated with the Sea Organs whose sound is transposed in the light that occurs on the Zadar waterfront after sunset. The installation will create light effects modem connection will be able to receive other outer, spontaneous impulses, while the lighting pictures will adapt to different occasions.
