Museum with a permanent collection that includes the entire Skurjeni oeuvre: paintings, oil paintings, drawings and prints.
Matija Skurjeni (Veternica near Golubovec, Croatian Zagorje, December 14, 1898. - Zapresic, October 4, 1990.), Croatian naive painter, one of the founders of the Society of Artists of Croatian naive.
He completed an apprenticeship for painters, worked as a shepherd, miner and painter. During the First World War soldier in the Russian and Italian front.
His first pictures are created in 1924. In 1948. he had his first exhibition. In retirement he went in 1956.and then he was completely dedicated to painting and in 1957. began to cooperate with the Gallery of Primitive Art in Zagreb. Skurjeni European success begins in 1960. , when he exhibited in the gallery La Nuova Pesa in Rome.
