Association of ornithologists has a special role in saving the young vultures who fall into the sea, or to find a sick or wounded. Open a resting place for the griffon vulture, which is recovering injured vultures to re-release in nature.
Eco-Center Caput Insulae - White (hereafter referred to as ECCIB) Research and Educational Center for the Protection of Nature, a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve natural diversity, indigenous values ​​and cultural heritage of the island. The association operates 18 years and has successfully implemented a number of projects.

Fundamental part of ECCIB includes integrated protection of endangered and protected species, the griffon vulture. In conjunction with the Ornithological station Cres Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (CASA), monitors the populations of these birds in the Kvarner region.

On the island of Cres in two ornithological reserves inhabited by about 80 nesting pairs, and to date more than 760 griffon vulture marked (wing tag, metal and plastic ring with marks and numbers and ratelitskim GPS transmitters).
