On the square in Trsteno there are two gigantic platana trees (Platanus orientalis) over 400 years old, the largest of its kind in Europe. Main attraction of this small town is Trsteno Arboretum, arboretum that combines the richness of its cultural and natural heritage of the Adriatic. Known for its historic gardens and collection of Mediterranean and exotic plants, it was established in 1948.
