
ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM NARONA, VID
The first museum in the country to be constructed in situ.
The foundation stone was laid for the future museum on 19 July 2004. and Narona Archaeological Museum was established by the Croatian Government 2005th, and after an extremely complex construction works officially opened on 18 May 2007., as the first museum in the country to be constructed in situ. This method of presentation of archaeological sites has enriched the museum's offer of Croatian and has few parallels in European and global scale. The museum has been awarded three times. Award "Vladimir Nazor" got the architect Goran Rako for the museum, "CEMEX" award for its construction company MGA from Metkovic and Archaeological Museum Narona won the Croatian National Tourist Board "Blue Flower" for special contribution to the enrichment of Croatian tourism.
