At the top of a hill that rises above the Ston fields a pre-Romanesque church of St. Michael, with the oldest preserved frescoes of the area. After the restoration of churche and frescoes a great cultural value of this object became visible. It is assumed that the church of St. Michael was once the palace chapel, which was in the Rector's Palace complex. Today the church is certainly one of the oldest and most valuable Ston monuments.
