
DRAGUTIN STRAŽIMIR
Dragutin Stražimir considered the father of Croatian enology.
Dragutin Stražimir was born on 27 Stražimir rujna 1821st in Great Bukovac near Ludbreg. His family lived on the estate of Count Draskovic (his father was performing a job steward) to move to the Zelendvor Erdödy family. Young Stražimir attended elementary school in Petrijanec near Varazdin. He continued his studies in Bjelovar, Kaniža and ended at the seminary in Zagreb. The 1870th Varazdin is published in the central Stražimirovo work - Winegrower, which were collected his whole enological knowledge. This is the first work of this nature published in Croatia, and 1876th The work has seen expanded edition entitled Viticulture. Besides growers Stražimir published and other works, Farming for the people, and religious moral Mijat Briguša economic narrative (prose fiction). Dragutin Stražimir life ended in the Czech Republic, where in the spring of 1891. was sent for treatment. After treatment in Karlovy Vary died in Prague on 7th svibnja 1891st year.
