Dragutin Stražimir was born on 27 Stražimir rujna 1821st in Great Bukovac near Ludbreg. His family lived on the estate of Count Draskovic (his father was performing a job steward) to move to the Zelendvor Erdödy family. Young Stražimir attended elementary school in Petrijanec near Varazdin. He continued his studies in Bjelovar, Kaniža and ended at the seminary in Zagreb. The 1870th Varazdin is published in the central Stražimirovo work - Winegrower, which were collected his whole enological knowledge.
