
GROŽNJAN

Descend to the ancient road of Via Flavia from Buje to Vižinada, you will see on the left 228 meters tall conical hill, from whose top, middle house, towering steeple. City, formerly known as the "castle", was surrounded by thick walls, whose ruins are carefully preserved: in the past had two doors, one of which they are preserved - Great Gate, and had a drawbridge. With magnificent lookout point, on the wall, near the place where stood a small door and where there is still a Venetian column, see view streches all the way to the horizon. In this small town located on the top of the hill, the houses are close to one another, which confirms the formation of a medieval town.
