The city of Trogir was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis 3. century BC. In Central Europe it was considered to be the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city. The castle and tower, surrounded by walls, make the core of Trogir. The most important cultural monument is the cathedral, whose western portal gate is made by famous Master Radovan. Trogir is situated on the coast of the Kastela Bay, the island between Čiovo and the mainland to which it is connected with the stone bridge.
