
CHURCH OF ST. DONAT - A TRADEMARK OF ZADAR
Originally dedicated to St. Trinity and from 15 century called the present name, by the Zadar bishop Donatus, who initiated its construction.
It represented a residential chapel built against the bishop bishopric. By an unusual cylindrical shape with double interior space distinguished by its originality and uniqueness of the construction techniques without direct models.
The Church is long out of use for religious purposes. It has excellent acoustic properties and are in it for 50 years for musical performances of the famous International Festival of Medieval and Renaissance Music, "Musical Evenings in St. Donat ".
